Storm Damage Repair in Bethany

Hail and wind can leave damage you can't see from the yard. We get on the roof so you don't have to, photograph what we find, cover anything that's letting water in and walk you through the repair before any work begins.

What storm damage repair covers

This work is about putting back what one storm took apart. That can mean shingles ripped up by wind, hail that stripped away granules, flashing peeled back, cracked vents, or gutters that are dented or hanging off the fascia. You might spot some of it from the driveway. Much of it only shows up close, which is why we look at the roof in person.

Oklahoma spring storms can bring hail and straight-line wind in the same afternoon, so we check for both. The first thing we ask you to do is stay off the ladder. A wet, hail-pitted roof is slick, and loose shingles can slide under your feet. Let us handle the climbing, with fall protection, while you stay safely on the ground.

What's included when we handle storm damage

A safe, close-up roof check

We work from the roof surface with harnesses and secured ladders. Storms don't always hit from one direction, so we go over all sides of the roof, including the ones facing away from the wind.

Photos of what we find

You get clear pictures of hail hits, creased shingles, lifted edges and damaged metal. Those photos help you understand the problem and are useful if you decide to file an insurance claim.

Temporary protection

If the storm opened a hole or stripped shingles, we tarp and secure the area so rain stays out while the repair is planned. The tarp is fastened so the next gust doesn't turn it into a sail.

Repairs matched to the damage

We replace broken shingles, reseal or replace bent flashing, swap cracked vents and pipe boots, and fix damaged decking underneath when we find it. If the damage is too widespread to patch, we'll say so and explain roof replacement as an option.

Gutter and edge checks

Hail dents gutters and downspouts, and wind can pull them loose. We check them as part of the visit and can fix them through our gutters service.

Cleanup of storm debris

Torn shingles, nails and branch pieces come off the roof with us. We run a magnet over the yard and driveway so kids and pets aren't stepping on loose nails.

Signs your roof took storm damage

Shingle pieces on the ground
Finding torn bits of shingle around your home after a storm tells you something up top let go. Wherever they came from is now open to the weather.
Dark spots or bruises on shingles
Hail knocks off the protective granules and leaves round, dark marks. Those spots age faster and can start leaking months later.
Dented vents, gutters or downspouts
If soft metal around your home is dented, the shingles took the same hits. It's an easy clue to spot from the ground.
Water marks showing up indoors
A ceiling that turns discolored, or an attic that smells musty once the rain passes, usually means the roof has an opening. Finding it quickly saves your insulation and drywall.
Lifted or creased edges
Wind can bend shingles back without tearing them off. The crease breaks the seal, and the next storm can peel them away.

How a storm damage visit works

  1. 1

    You call, we listen

Tell us what you saw and when the storm hit. If water is coming in, we'll talk about what to do safely in the meantime, like moving belongings and staying clear of wet ceilings near light fixtures.

  2. 2

    Inspection and photos

We check the roof, attic, gutters and flashing, then show you the photos at your kitchen table or on your phone. You'll hear plainly whether this is a repair, a larger job or nothing to worry about.

  3. 3

    Cover what's open

Any exposed area gets tarped and secured the same visit when weather allows, so your home stays dry.

  4. 4

    Written estimate and insurance talk

You get a line-item estimate. If you're filing a claim, we'll explain how the process usually goes and can meet with your adjuster to point out the damage, though the claim decision is theirs.

  5. 5

    Repair and cleanup

We set up with the work area marked off, keep ladders secured and finish with a full debris and nail sweep before we leave.

What sets the price of storm repair work

Every storm hits a roof differently, so your price comes from what we actually see up there. The estimate gives each piece of work its own line, with nothing lumped together or hidden. If you go through insurance, that format makes it simple to line our figures up against the adjuster's report.

How much of the roof was hit
Swapping a few shingles the wind pulled off one slope is quick work. Hail damage on every side means far more labor and material, and at that point a new roof can be the better choice over patching.
Damage under the shingles
Water that gets through can soften the decking. Pulling out cracked or rotted boards and putting in new ones takes extra time and material.
Roof height and pitch
A steep roof or a second story calls for more safety setup, and the labor line reflects that extra work.
Matching your shingles
Shingles that are old or no longer made can be tough to match, and a close match may cost more than a standard shingle.

Storm damage questions we hear

Should I go up and check the roof myself after a storm?
Please don't. A storm-damaged roof is slick, and loose shingles can shift under your feet. Look from the yard, check the attic with a flashlight and give us a call so we can handle the climbing with proper fall protection.
Do I need to call my insurance company first?
That's up to you. A lot of homeowners have us look at the roof before they contact their insurer, so they find out if the storm really did harm before starting a claim. Whichever order you choose, you'll get photos and a written estimate you can pass along.
Will you deal with my adjuster?
If you'd like, we'll be there when the adjuster visits and walk them through the damage in our photos. We aren't your adjuster, and we won't make promises about what your policy pays for. What gets covered is settled between you and your insurer.
What if the hail damage is only cosmetic?
Sometimes hail marks metal but leaves shingles in good shape. If that's what we find, we'll tell you plainly. You won't be pushed into work your roof doesn't need.
Do you work outside Bethany?
Yes. Along with Bethany, we handle storm repairs in nearby towns like Warr Acres, Yukon, Piedmont and Oklahoma City. Our Service Areas page lists the rest.
